Matt Frary is a Chartered Financial Planner. He has been advising clients for over 26 years and heads up our Norwich Office, which opened in 2019. Passionate about providing clients with a comprehensive and clear financial plan, he is also proud to deliver transparent and open advice. When he's not meeting clients or doing the paperwork, Matt makes the most of time with his family and likes to keep fit, as well as being open to playing and watching most sports. We catch up with Matt to learn more about his approach to financial planning and what he gets up to out of the office.
- What attracted you to RockWealth?
I really liked the RockWealth approach. The RockWealth ethos of proper financial planning using cashflow software modelling, evidence-based investment and offering fixed, capped fees for clients all combined to be an ideal match to my own beliefs about how financial advice should work for clients.
- Do you have a specialist area, or is there a particular aspect of financial planning that you most enjoy?
My specialist area is primarily in investments and pensions. Most of my work involves pre- and post-retirement planning.
- What about your job do you find most rewarding?
Helping clients meet their needs and objectives and them having as much financial freedom as possible.
- What's your focus right now, and what are you most excited about in the coming months?
Building up the Norwich office business, and improving my knowledge in relation to the ever-updating cashflow and retirement sustainability planning software. The quick-fire round

I’m happy!
- When I'm not at work...
I am with family relaxing and/or keeping fit via circuit training or the gym. I also regularly take part in the local weekend Parkrun. If I’m not doing sport, I also enjoy watching it.
- Favourite food?
My wife’s cooking – honestly! And the occasional pub meal.
- Favourite film?
Can I have two? Field of Dreams and Dances with Wolves.
- Top of your reading list?
Currently a good John Grisham novel.
- Top of your bucket list?
More travel when possible. And I’d love to fly in a Spitfire.
- What three small things always improve your day?
Politeness, kindness, and a good cup of coffee!
- What makes you laugh?
